AmeriCorps VISTA Leader Opportunity Available Now

HopeWorks is seeking to fill a one year AmeriCorps VISTA Leader role to help lead the HopeWorks VISTA program. The due date to apply is March 8th, 2021. 

**Applicants must be one of these: former AmeriCorps State & National members or NCCC members that have completed 1,700 hours of service; Peace Corps members that served a full term; or past VISTA members that completed a full term.**

About the Role

Join a VISTA project that will help you grow and achieve your professional development goals with funds to support you. Help build the capacity of our members and partner organizations to help break the cycle of poverty in Snohomish County. The goal of this project is to help formerly homeless, low-income individuals & families, youth, veterans, and people with disabilities to escape poverty through a cross-sector collaborative approach, focusing on outreach and access to opportunities and resources. We are partnered with six community partners, each hosting one or more VISTA members. 

About the VISTA Program:

AmeriCorps VISTA members live and serve in some of our nation’s poorest urban and rural areas. With passion, commitment, and hard work, they create or expand programs designed to bring individuals and communities out of poverty.

Each VISTA member makes a year-long, full-time commitment to serve on a specific project at a nonprofit organization or public agency. In return for their service, AmeriCorps VISTA members receive a modest living allowance and health benefits during their service, and have the option of receiving a Segal AmeriCorps Education Award or post-service stipend after completing their service.

Current biweekly living allowance is $829.36, the education award is $6,095 or post-service stipend of $1,800. There are many more benefits as well, go here to learn more about the living allowance and other benefits offered by Americorps VISTA.
